General Health Measures

In all matters of health, CBE takes direction from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Find out how you can reduce the spread and lessen the impact of illness in school communities.

Routine Immunizations

The CBE supports the AHS school-based immunization program.

It is important that you call the school if your child is absent or arriving late. Please report all absences to the Attendance Line at 403-777-6970 ex 1. See more on our Attendance page.

Severe Allergies

This year we have a number of students in the school who have severe, life-threatening nut allergies. Students have been asked, and reminded that there is no sharing of snacks or lunches at school for safety reasons. Procedures are in place in our lunchrooms for students with allergies, however as a school community we are asking for your assistance.

At present we are not a nut-free school. We are asking your support in keeping all our students safe by refraining from sending peanut butter, Nutella or nuts as a snack or lunch to school with your child. Children who enjoy peanut butter often enjoy another similar product call Wow Butter. We realize that this request may pose an inconvenience for you when preparing your child’s snack and lunch, and we want to express our appreciation for your support and understanding.

Lice

There may be times during the school year when we have cases of head lice.

If your child has head lice, please contact the school and let us know. If your child has been exposed to lice at school we will notify you.

As a precaution, we ask all parents to check their child’s head frequently for a few weeks after any exposure. You can find more information on lice from myhealth.alberta.ca.
