Good afternoon Abbeydale School Families,

It’s hard to believe that we’re already moving into June! A big THANK YOU to those who came out to our School Council meeting this past Monday evening. We’d like to thank the dedicated parents who continue to not only attend these meetings, but continue to focus on supporting Abbeydale staff, families and students through the work that they do! That said, they need more help! Keep your eye out for opportunities where you can support this group of passionate parents help continue to support our school!

Just a reminder that while our last day of school with students is Thursday, June 27, this is a HALF DAY meaning school will be done at 12:30 PM.

Please see more updates below:

School Bus Registration

Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2024-25 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as the current school year.

Apply Today

  • Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how to create one.)
  • Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
  • We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.
  • Note: Conditional ridership forms will be available after the registration deadline.

Last Day of School for Students – Thursday, June 27

Just a reminder that while our last day of school with students is Thursday, June 27, this is a HALF DAY meaning school will be done at 12:30 PM.

Cell Phones Policy

Similar to other CBE schools, we’ll be looking to implement an “Away for the Day” Cell phone policy next year. Please see the draft of the policy below:

Away for the Day Cell Phone Policy:  Abbeydale School has an away for the day cell phone policy. If students choose to bring their cell phones to school, the expectation will be for them to remain in their back packs on silent or turned off for the duration of the school day. Should you need to connect with your child during the school day, please contact the main office and we will ensure the message gets to your child. It is always our recommendation that students do not bring valuables like technology to school as we do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage of students’ personal devices.

If students are caught with a phone:

  • First Offence | Phone is brought to the office to be housed in the office for the remainder of the day. Phone is returned to the student at the end of the day.
  • Second Offence | Phone is brought to the office to be housed in the office for the remainder of the day. Phone is returned to a guardian at the end of the day.
  • Third Offence | Phone is brought to the office, and progressive discipline measures begin to be employed.

If you have any questions or feedback regarding this, please contact School Administration.
