Good afternoon Abbeydale School Families,
It’s been a wild and wet weather week! We’re happy for the moisture though, as it’s much needed in our province. May has been a busy month so far. From hosting our kindergarten orientation visits to going on many different field trips to the Zoo, Telus Spark & The Humane Society our school is a busy and wonderful place to be. We’d like to thank School Council for continuing to fund various field trip opportunities. A reminder that we have our last School Council meeting of the year on Monday, May 27 at 6pm. Feel free to join us online or in-person in the Learning Commons. School Council Meeting (May)

School Bus Registration
Families are now able to register for school bus service for the 2024-25 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as the current school year.
Apply Today
- Registration is available using your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, click here to learn how to create one.)
- Families must register by Sunday, June 16 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
- We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing stop with available space. Processing times could be up to six weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume.
- Note: Conditional ridership forms will be available after the registration deadline.
Cell Phones Policy
Similar to other CBE schools, we’ll be looking to implement an “Away for the Day” Cell phone policy next year. Please see the draft of the policy below:
Away for the Day Cell Phone Policy: Abbeydale School has an away for the day cell phone policy. If students choose to bring their cell phones to school, the expectation will be for them to remain in their back packs on silent or turned off for the duration of the school day. Should you need to connect with your child during the school day, please contact the main office and we will ensure the message gets to your child. It is always our recommendation that students do not bring valuables like technology to school as we do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage of students’ personal devices.
If students are caught with a phone:
- First Offence | Phone is brought to the office to be housed in the office for the remainder of the day. Phone is returned to the student at the end of the day.
- Second Offence | Phone is brought to the office to be housed in the office for the remainder of the day. Phone is returned to a guardian at the end of the day.
- Third Offence | Phone is brought to the office, and progressive discipline measures begin to be employed.
If you have any questions or feedback regarding this, please contact School Administration.
