As we approach Fall Break, Abbeydale Students are having discussions about values. Teachers are teaching about Kindness, Perseverance, Curiosity, Bravery, Integrity and many more! Teachers are also asking students what values are important to them and to their families, so please have conversations with your children at home and encourage them to share at school! 

Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth - Bridges to Community after school program  

Grade 4-6 students are invited to participate in a 6 week after school program running Tuesdays November 5 – December 17 from 3-5pm.  Registration is due Monday so don't wait! This program will involve, art, music and physical activity and help to build a sense of belonging in the community. Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Fall/Winter Series 2024-2025 

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in a pre-recorded and live online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta and will explore topics such as Peer Pressure, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health for Highly Sensitive Teens, and navigating Parent-Teen relationships. Winter is Coming!    

Please have your students prepared for the weather.  Your students will go outside for recess unless the temperature with wind chill is below –20 degrees.   

Please send them with Boots, a winter coat, snow pants, gloves or mitts and a toque (winter hat)!  

Please call the school if you require support with winter clothing. 

Save The Date  | Quest Theatre

We are excited to be welcoming Quest Theatre into our school for a theater residency for a week in December.  This work will culminate in a whole school theatre production.  The performance will take place Friday December 13 at 1:30 PM in the Abbeydale School Gym.   We are sending this out now so that families can plan accordingly.  We hope to see you all there and we would like to thank School Council for sponsoring this activity.

Please do not drop off or pick up students in the Bus Parking zone, or in the staff parking lot 

Lunch and Snack 

All students should bring a snack from home 

Students who are staying for lunch must bring a nutritious lunch (bring your own spoon or fork as we do not provide have disposable cutlery.

Please take your empty bottles, cans and juice boxes to East Hills Bottle Depot and tell them to put your return in the Abbeydale School Account.  This will help raise money for school events such as field trips and our new park fund.
