Thank You Families!
We are very grateful to all families who took time to volunteer this weekend at the Casino. The support our students receive from this event is immense. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, and to our school council for arranging this for us!
Winter is Coming
Please have your students prepared for the weather. Your students will go outside for recess unless the temperature with wind chill is below –20 degrees.
Please send them with Boots, a winter coat, snowpants, gloves or mitts and a toque (winter hat)!
Please call the school if you require support with winter clothing.
Halloween Thursday
Students are invited to wear costumes to school but please follow these guidelines:
- No weapons
- No blood / gore
- We must be able to see the child’s face (No full face masks).
- No inflatable costumes
- Also please keep candy at home. We are unable to have students bring in candy (or food) to sharing at school.
Grade 5 Field Trip Monday
Grade 5 students are heading to the Tim Hortons Ranch in Kananaskis Provincial Park! Please dress for the weather; the forecast is calling for some snow in the mountains. The bus departs at 8:15 (So make sure your child is on time!) and returns at 2:30. Lunch is provided.
School Council Meeting Monday
Our School Council meeting is happening this Monday October 28 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Abbeydale School. School Council is always looking for new families to join and support Abbeydale School. Everyone is welcome!

School Hours
Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 2:40pm
Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm
There is no supervision before 7:50am
Please do not drop off or pick up students in the Bus Parking zone, or in the staff parking lot
Lunch and Snack
All students should bring a snack from home
Students who are staying for lunch must bring a nutritious lunch (bring your own spoon or fork as we do not provide have disposable cutlery.
Please call the school office if you are in need of food support
Save The Date
We are excited to be welcoming Quest Theatre into our school for a theater residency for a week in December. This work will culminate in a whole school theatre production. The performance will take place Friday December 13 at 1:30 PM in the Abbeydale School Gym. We are sending this out now so that families can plan accordingly. We hope to see you all there and we would like to thank School Council for sponsoring this activity.

East Hills Bottle Depot Ongoing Bottle Drive
Please take your empty bottles, cans and juice boxes to East Hills Bottle Depot and tell them to put your return in the Abbeydale School Account. This will help raise money for school events such as field trips and our new park fund.
