Good afternoon Abbeydale School Families,

While a short week, the past few days have been busy! At this point in the year, most of our students are firmly into the routines of a school day as well as the expectations put on them based on their age. We encourage families to continue to be in communication with their child/ren’s homeroom teacher to see how you can support them with this, as the more we work together, the more our students will be successful – both social-emotionally and academically!

Friday, November 24 (Non-Instructional Day)

There is NO school on Friday, Nov. 24 as it is a Non-Instructional Day. We encourage families to plan for opportunities to be together with one another and with nature!

Pick-Up/Drop-Off

Our school day begins at 8:00am each morning, with staff supervising outside beginning at 7:50am. Our school day ends at 2:40pm. Please ensure that you arrive on time to be able to pick up your child at this time. If an emergency arises and you are going to be a few minutes late, please contact the office. We want to remind families that our office closes shortly after the school day. We ask that late pick-up is minimal to ensure that staff are able to tend to their other responsibilities after the bell.

Winter Celebration

We’ll be hosting our annual Winter Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 14. Look back here in the coming weeks for more details about this event.

Soccer

Due to the ongoing safety concerns with snow and ice as well as peer conflicts, we’ve decided to take a break from soccer for the next little while. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and will revisit next steps in the coming weeks.

School Council Meeting (Nov. 27)

Our next school council meeting will take place in-person on Monday, Nov. 27. We invite any interested parents to come and be a part of the great work council does to support our school! While this meeting is in person, please note that childcare is not provided at the school.
