Good afternoon Abbeydale School Families,

Our first few days have been busy and oh so wonderful! Students are settling into their new classrooms and teachers have been busy preparing materials, building relationships and establishing routines and structures to support learning and social emotional growth this year. We encourage you to connect with your teachers throughout the year to see how you can support them! Whether it be creating morning evening routines at home, supporting your child with developing reading skills or just even connecting with them on a daily basis, when we work together our students benefit.

Enrollment Growth – Potential Classroom Changes

In the past week we have welcomed 34 (and counting!) new students to Abbeydale School! We’re excited to welcome these new faces but also know that this can add other layers to think about such as manageable class sizes. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be working with our Area team to best accommodate Abbeydale students. While classroom changes are a last resort, this may be a necessary step given our growing numbers. As we know more information, we’ll connect with any families who may be impacted by necessary changes. We appreciate your understanding and want you to know we are working VERY hard to set students up for a positive school year! Monday, Sept. 4 (No School)

There will be No School Sept. 4th as it is a holiday. Enjoy the long weekend!

Meet the Teacher (Sept. 8 from 1:00-2:30pm)

We will be hosting a Meet the Teacher opportunity next Friday from 1:00-2:30pm. This is an opportunity for you to meet with your child/ren’s teacher and gather some information for how YOU can help support them this year. This is a casual opportunity, so feel free to drop in during these times, plan to spend around 15 minutes for each child you have. Please note that the school will be CLOSED from 12:30-1:00pm as we prepare for this and will end promptly at 2:30pm. We look forward to seeing you then!
