Hello Parents of Abbeydale School!
All of us here on the Abbeydale School School Council want to both say welcome back to our parents and students who’ve been part of the school and for those who are new we want to say welcome to the school.
As a School Council, we’re always looking for volunteers to help out throughout the school year. To give you an idea on where we are looking for help, we need volunteers for our Parent Council as we have members on their last year in the school, so this year is the last year to work alongside them to learn those positions. There are also volunteer opportunities for fundraisers coming up this year, from in-school events to our casino that is coming up October 23 & 24.
So you’re aware of what we do, School Council meets once a month (we’re predominantly virtual right now) for a couple of hours where we discuss what’s happening in the school, what are the goals of the teaching staff, learning where we can help on funding (for example funding field trips and in school activities so parents are not burdened with extra costs) and then voting on those funding requests.
To learn more about what’s coming up, different ways to help out or to help provide input, there’s multiple ways to get a hold of us. You can email us directly at abbeydaleschoolcouncil@gmail.com , message us through our Facebook page ( Abbeydale Elementary School Council / Society ) or reach out to the school to provide us your contact information and we’ll get back to you. Even better, if you can help, please let us know through those same avenues!
So once again, welcome to Abbeydale School from all of us here on School Council and we look forward to everyone having a successful school year!
Take care,
Phillip Lounsbury
President
